The wonder of Phong Du Thuong terraced fields in Yen Bai

Recently, the online community was excited and surprised with the beauty of terraced fields and "raspberry" hills in Phong Du Thuong commune, Van Yen district, Yen Bai province.

Mr. Lo Van Manh - Secretary of the Party Committee of Phong Du Thuong Commune said: "Currently, the commune's terraced fields are mainly concentrated in Khe Tau village with nearly 30 hectares. This is a village with 100% of the Mong ethnic group. "The project" was made by 79 households in the village. Some terraced fields here have been cultivated by local people. Newly built areas are continuing to be repaired and water is brought back from the source..." .

Also according to Mr. Manh, the area of ​​​​people working on terraced fields is in discolored hills and mountains. By early 1997, the Mong people in Nam Co commune, Mu Cang Chai district, who migrated to the commune to live, explored this land into terraced rice fields. Due to suitable climatic conditions along with the State's interest in irrigation, the area of ​​terraced fields expands more and more every year. The commune encourages people to renovate the fallow land, while ensuring the preservation of the landscape and environment suitable for living conditions. 

"However, for the "wonder" of terraced fields to develop, the locality urgently needs a concrete road to Khe Tau village so that the transportation and travel of people will be more convenient. At the same time, in the near future, The commune has many conditions for economic development associated with tourism..." - Mr. Manh shared.

It is known that in order to promote the development of the tourism industry, in the past time, Van Yen district has focused on promoting tourism; planning, investing in building infrastructure for sustainable tourism development. The district has planned to develop community-based tourism in association with the development of craft villages in 5 communes: Phong Du Thuong, Na Hau, Tan Hop, Quang Minh and Dong Cuong. At the same time, the District People's Committee develops a tourism development project in Van Yen district in the period of 2020 - 2025.
