The Thai government is planning a bus route to connect three points Nakhon Phanom - Thakhek - Ha Tinh to promote tourism.
The Thai Ministry of Transport said that it is promoting the opening of a cross-border bus route with Laos and Vietnam. If this plan is successful, tourists can use this bus to visit Nakhon Phanom, Thailand - Thakhek, Laos and Ha Tinh, Vietnam, laotiantimes reported on June 23.
The Thai side said it had asked Laos to host the second meeting of the tripartite working group as soon as possible to discuss the service model and come up with formal agreements on this bus route.

The distance from Nakhon Phanom to Ha Tinh is about 300 km. Lao newspaper rated these three cities as particularly attractive to tourists: many local cultural attractions, temples and sacred destinations, waterfalls, mountains and beaches.
Information about opening a new bus route has attracted the attention of many people, including Vietnamese tourists. Some visitors think that this will be a new experience, compared to the traditional journey from Vietnam to Laos and Thailand through land border gates by conventional cars or planes. Besides, some are also concerned that sitting in a car on the 300 km stage will be difficult, only suitable for tourists who do not suffer from motion sickness.
