Currently , the borders of countries have opened and to inspire travel again in 2022, Afar introduces readers to 39 of the world's most outstanding destinations. In particular, Phong Nha - Quang Binh, Vietnam is an increasingly accessible heritage destination and not to be missed in the new year.

National Park Phong Nha - Ke Bang began to attract adventurous tourists in 2013, when Son Doong cave was discovered. Phong Nha - Ke Bang gradually becomes a model for protected areas in Vietnam, including the new biosphere reserves Nui Chua and Kon Ha Nung.

Phong Nha-based Oxalis hopes to launch new tours in 2022 that will bring an experience comparable to the Son Doong expedition tour. Among the new tours in Phong Nha can be mentioned Hang Ba tour. The guide will lead you through 5 caves with limestone chambers and giant stalactites. Not only crawling, swimming or paddle boarding, visitors also experience camping and hiking through the jungle.

Howard Limbert, the leader of the cave expedition that has been exploring Son Doong since the early 1990s, shared: "I've wanted to have tours like this for a long time." Previously, going from Phong Nha village to the cave area took 15 hours. But thanks to the new road, now customers only have to travel for 5-6 hours. He also said that, thanks to efforts to protect the cave and hire people to work locally, the rate of illegal logging has decreased, and at the same time spurred action by conservationists.
