Traveling with family during the Covid-19 epidemic season, what should you pay attention to?

Check all travel restrictions, stay-at-home orders, quarantine and testing requirements when traveling with family during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The emergence of the Covid-19 pandemic makes travel hindered or potentially risky. All trips carry the risk of infection or spread of disease, so there are many things you need to keep in mind if you are planning to travel with your family during the pandemic.

Outdoor activities are safer in closed malls, adults and children over 2 years old should wear masks, use hand sanitizer to reduce the risk of disease transmission, etc. not all. Please refer to some of the tips below to protect the health of you and your loved ones during family travel during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Things to keep in mind when traveling with family during the pandemic

Learn about travel restrictions

Stay up to date with recommendations and restrictions from the countries and regions of your choice of destination. Also check for changes regularly before your family trip as policies can change at any time without notice, family travel itinerary disrupting your.

For example, some US states such as Hawaii and Florida require people who have recently traveled to or moved from states with "Covid-19 hotspots" to quarantine for 14 days after arrival. Some other countries around the world that are open to tourists like Cambodia and Barbados require a certificate of negative test for Covid-19 and medical expenses.

Regularly check the websites of the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and local health authorities to overcome this restriction when traveling with family during the Covid-19 epidemic season.

Health check before the trip

Whatever your age, you should also receive adequate vaccines and epidemic prevention before traveling because there is always the risk of diseases other than Covid-19, including vaccine measles-mumps -rubella (MMR) and seasonal flu vaccine.

Before traveling with family during the epidemic season, each family member needs to have a medical examination as well as be advised on the necessary personal risk and safety precautions to know if you should travel now or not, is it safe. Family members at higher risk of severe illness (older family members, those with underlying medical conditions) should consider postponing all travel, including important trips to destinations to high risk.

Also, remember to prepare enough basic medicines to use for your trip in any case.

Avoid Covid-19 Hotspots

No matter where you travel with your family during the pandemic, always choose wisely. Before destinations around the world begin to reopen in May, the World Health Organization (WHO) recommends that those places have a Covid-19 positive test rate of less than 5% generated. a safer travel environment.

The travel experience for you in this case is to set your destination aside and plan flexibly. When you're traveling during the pandemic, it's important to understand that at any point, restrictions and guidelines may change. For example, a destination may place a stay-at-home order or a state may require a quarantine, and you will need to be prepared to make those changes.

Many hotels around the world offer deep discounts to encourage tourism in the high season, but large, high-rise hotels with crowded communal spaces can put your family at many health risks.  Instead, a house on an empty beach, a hotel farther from the center or a homestay in the mountains, etc. will be a more ideal suggestion for a family vacation destination during the epidemic season.

Consider transportation

Airports, bus and train stations, public transport, rest stops are all places where you can contract the virus at any time. That's why experts often recommend short trips or family trips during the pandemic by self-driving cars, caravan travel to have less exposure to surroundings and strangers.

In case you have to travel by plane, please bring protective clothing to wear and change when getting off the plane, download an application to your phone to track luggage, reduce contact points in the airport and cabins.

Plan outdoor activities

When planning your itinerary, choose outdoor activities as landmarks, destination restaurants and other attractions may be closed or closed. It's not safe, it's a note when traveling with family during the epidemic season. Visiting hours may also be limited and reservations may be required to avoid crowds.

However, there are many ways to help family members have fun and still be enjoyable that are outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, biking, spending time at a quiet beach or visiting a National Park,…

Keeping children safe

Traveling with family is the most effective way to teach young children about the world and the people around them. However, during the epidemic season, conversations with strangers are not so simple.

Before the trip, explain to your child the importance of staying healthy, washing hands and wearing a mask. To prepare your child, you can play a game with him first and show him how to act rationally in situations.

In the middle of a trip, don't panic about an accidental hug your child gives a new friend. Gently remind your child how to protect himself and others from the virus right after, such as avoiding close contact, wearing a mask correctly, and disinfecting hands at all times.

The above experiences will make your trip with your family during the pandemic safer.
