The Thai government has issued a decision that will be available to visitors on the isolation 2 week stay boat in Phuket if they test negative for Covid-19.
The Digital Yacht Quarantine is for travelers who have had a negative Covid-19 test and require an additional 2 weeks of quarantine. The Thai government hopes the new program will generate about $ 58 million in revenue for the current yacht business.
According to the announcement dated March 10 by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), to participate in the program, visitors must wear a watch with GPS navigation. The watch also has the function to monitor pulse, blood pressure and body temperature to provide data to doctors.
Guests will stay on a yacht located in Phuket beach, wear a 24-hour watch and always keep 10 km from the mainland, but experience isolated days as a luxury vacation. When the quarantine period is over, the authorities will analyze the results and allow visitors to land.

According to TAT, the isolation program on yachts has been applied in Thailand since October 2020. However, by 2021, the new isolation package with electronic tracking equipment is expected to attract more than 100 yachts and 300-500 passengers.
According to Lonelyplanet, the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (Depa) is working with mobile company Advanced Info Service, tourist businesses in Phuket and a technology company to launch the program. In addition, members of the Royal Thai Navy will monitor the yachts.
Previously, on March 8, Health Minister Anuthin Charnvirakul announced that the quarantine period would be reduced gradually for 3 groups of visitors to Thailand. The group of foreign visitors who had received the Covid-19 vaccine was reduced from 14 days to 7 days of isolation provided they had to get enough doses of vaccine before arriving 2 weeks to 3 months.
Thai nationals who have been vaccinated abroad have to stay in quarantine for only a week at the hotel. And the group of customers who have not been vaccinated will have to quarantine for 10 days instead of 14 days as before. However, people from Africa to Thailand were quarantined for two weeks with concerns that the vaccine could not prevent the new virus variant from South Africa.
