Currently the official name of this certification is "European Union Covid Digital Certification". The certificate is issued by an EU member state and must be accepted by other countries as valid proof. The certificate is issued free of charge in paper or electronic form containing a QR code to ensure the security and authenticity of the information.
The main objective of the EU is to provide an easy-to-use, non-discriminatory and secure tool for data protection. Certification will be provided to EU citizens and their family members.
The European Commission is expected to develop a common web portal to ensure all certifications are verifiable across Europe and to assist Member States in technical implementation.

Contactless Travel App Module: allows passengers to (1) create a 'digital passport', (2) receive test results and vaccination certificates for the trip, and (3) share test results or vaccination certificates with airlines and authorities. Travelers can also use the app to manage digital travel documents seamlessly throughout their journey, helping to improve the travel experience.

The IATA Travel Pass is being piloted with many airlines around the world such as Singapore Airlines, Qatar Airways, Emirates, Etihad Airways, Copa Airlines... In Vietnam, Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet Air are participating in testing this application. .
