An international pilot group of about 200 people, US nationals, will arrive in Hoi An from Da Nang airport on a charter flight.
"These are the first international visitors to the locality since the outbreak of the Covid-19 epidemic in early 2020," said Nguyen Thanh Hong, director of the Quang Nam Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Then one day (November 18), the province will continue to welcome the second group with about 220 people.
Mr. Hong added that all passengers were US nationals, including many people of Vietnamese origin. They will stay at Nam Hoi An complex resort (Hoiana), Duy Xuyen district. The main purpose of the group of tourists is tourism and relaxation, not quarantine upon entry. After the end of the first 7 days according to the program, some tourists will return to the US, some will stay in Vietnam to visit relatives.

Doan guests will comply with the regulations on international welcome of Quang Nam recently issued. They can go to Hoi An ancient town, My Son temple complex, Vinpearl Resort & Golf Nam Hoi An, VinWonders Nam Hoi An, Vinpearl Golf Nam Hoi An, TUI Blue Nam Hoi An according to the agreed schedule in advance.
Guests commit to join the licensed self-contained tour, not to leave the hotel premises or attractions in the first 7 days. Special cases that cannot participate according to the schedule must be allowed by the competent authority to end the tour program earlier. According to the regulations, taking advantage of traveling or organizing tours to avoid medical isolation will be strictly prohibited. If the authorities detect violations, they will immediately apply medical isolation measures and handle them in accordance with current regulations.

Mr. Hong said that currently, all direct and indirect workers at destinations and tourism service providers participating in welcoming guests have basically injected two doses of Covid-19 vaccine.
On November 13 and 14, the Director General of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism Nguyen Trung Khanh also came to inspect the reception of guests in Quang Nam, from the stages of picking up guests, transporting guests from the airport to the accommodation area, and considering the arrival of guests. Covid-19 rapid testing, epidemic prevention at the facility, handling plans when incidents occur... The reception facilities are highly appreciated for their methodical preparation, ensuring thoughtfulness, safety...
Quang Nam, along with Phu Quoc (Kien Giang), Da Nang, Khanh Hoa, and Quang Ninh are the first 5 localities allowed to pilot international arrivals in phase one, from November with charter flights and self-contained tours.
