30 cruise ships with eco-label 'Blue Sails' are expected to serve meals at the Ha Long international passenger port area within a year.
Ha Long City People's Committee on October 3 said it had approved a pilot meal service on a cruise ship moored at the inland wharf of Ha Long international passenger port. Due to the complicated situation of the Covid-19 epidemic, depending on actual conditions, the deployment will be carried out after tourism and service establishments are allowed to operate in the new normal state. "If approved by the province, we will deploy in October," a Ha Long city leader informed.

The goal of the program is to create a new destination for tourists when the Covid-19 epidemic is under control, reducing the number of guests for restaurants on the shore during the tourist season and peak days. This is also expected to be a sustainable business model in the future, helping to optimize the ability to exploit ships to visit the bay, contributing to promoting the development of service tourism of Ha Long.
The deployment is carried out from 17h30 to 23h of the day. Visitors will be able to use the service on 30 cruise ships built from 2015 up to now, labeled with the eco-label "Blue Sails" and according to the standards issued by the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province. The location at the marina has a total length of more than 1,355 m. This is an isolated area and away from residential areas, so nighttime business activities will not affect people in the area.
The operation plan clearly defines the purpose and method of deployment to ensure security, safety, epidemic prevention, and environmental sanitation for the pilot implementation area of the food service.
In the fourth outbreak, Quang Ninh recorded 7 cases of Covid-19 in the community and restarted the quarantine checkpoints at the gateway connecting Hai Phong, Hai Duong, Lang Son, Bac Giang; stop karaoke, discotheque, bar... For the past 20 days, Quang Ninh has not recorded any Covid-19 cases in the community. From September 21, Quang Ninh has allowed tourism activities within the province.
