Can Gio district plans to pilot a closed tour on September 30 to contribute to the restoration of services according to the economic recovery plan.
The information was said by Secretary of Can Gio district Le Minh Dung at a meeting with Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen on epidemic prevention and economic recovery plan in the area, at noon on September 12.
Can Gio is one of three localities along with Cu Chi and District 7 that have announced that the epidemic is under control and are preparing a plan for economic recovery after September 15. This is also the locality that recorded the fewest cases of the 22 districts in Ho Chi Minh City during the fourth outbreak.
According to Mr. Dung, phase 1 (from September 16 to October 31), besides the types of openings according to the guidance of the city, the district also proposes to pilot open a number of activities such as fishing, farming. aquaculture, traditional markets, construction of individual houses in the people... At the same time, the district also plans to operate a tour or tourist attraction to contribute to the restoration of services, considering reopening entertainment activities. outdoor entertainment, on-site dining with a small scale (under 20 people) depending on the level of disease control and recommendations of the health industry.
Regarding tourism restoration, Mr. Dung said the district plans to build a closed tour, a closed route, where tourists only stay in certain areas. "It is expected that until September 30, a pilot tour can be opened," Dung said.
Regarding this plan, Mr. Nen said that Can Gio has basically controlled the epidemic and needs to continue to try to keep the area clean to develop services and tourism. "It is possible to narrow down each region to immediately do a domestic tourism program during the Covid-19 period," Mr. Should suggested.
Leaders of the City Party Committee requested Can Gio prepare a safe destination, people travel safely, if there is a risk, prepare a handling plan. Currently, people in the city have gone through more than 3 months of social distancing, so they want to go out to enjoy the fresh air, enjoy some food and then return to the city at the end of the day. The city will invite frontline forces to join this tour after many months of fighting against the epidemic, helping to regenerate health.
Cu Chi also plans to reopen tunnel tourism, but safety is more difficult in Cu Chi because it is adjacent to Hoc Mon, an area that is still quite complicated about epidemics. Meanwhile, Can Gio has a closed terrain, isolated from the city, so it has more favorable conditions, so it needs to be deployed soon.
About 50 km from the city center, Can Gio is the only district of Ho Chi Minh City bordering the sea with a length of 23 km. The district has an area of over 71,300 hectares, of which 70% are mangrove forests and rivers and canals, possessing many traditional craft villages, special festivals, favorable for the development of eco-tourism, culture and beliefs.
