OVERVIEW
Can Tho is the big city in Southern Vietnam and is also the political, social and economic hub of the Mekong Delta region. This city is located on the bank of the Hau ( Hậu) River, the bigger branch of Mekong, and is famous for its floating markets and canals traversing its rural area. During the day you can cruise the river to visit the floating markets, relax in the smaller back canals or unwind with a drink overlooking the water. The local area is incredibly fertile and local markets are full of exotic fruits and exquisite seafood. By night, the river area comes alive with music and neon lights that rival those of many big cities.

Can Tho experiences a tropical and monsoon climate with two seasons. It is rainy from May to November and dry from December to April. The best time to visit Can Tho is during the months of April, May and June.
– June, July, August: This time of the year has a comfortable climate with light rain and warm weather so that the visitors can have a good time exploring the river areas and fruit gardens in Can Tho ( Cần Thơ).

HOW TO TRAVEL TO CAN THO
Airplane
The city is served by the Can Tho Airport, which mostly caters to domestic flights to and from Phu Quoc, Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi. Most visitors will then transfer by private taxi to their hotel in the city center.
Coach
From HCM city, visitors can buy ticket at Mien Tay ( Miền Tây) Bus Station to Can Tho ( Cần Thơ) or contact the special bus routes HCM city – Can Tho.. It takes about 3 hours from Ho Chi Minh City, visitors can reach Can Tho
BEST PLACES IN CAN THO
Cai Rang floating market is an impressive “specialty” of Can Tho tourism. Located about 45 minutes down river from Can Tho City, the Cai Rang wholesale floating market began as a way for locals from either side of the Hau River to trade. The operation time of the floating market is from 5 to 9 am mainly agricultural products, fruits, goods, local food.
Ninh Kieu (Ninh Kiều) Whaft

The orchards are located along all roads and canals in Can Tho, offering tourists the chance to taste various kinds of tropical fruits. The largest orchards are My Khanh fruit garden, Mr. Sau Duong’s orchard, Binh Thuy ( Bình Thủy) orchid garden, Phong Dien ( Phong Điền) fruit garden etc.
Bang Lang Stork Garden
Located in Binh Thoi ( Bình Thới) Hamlet, Thoi Thuan ( Thới Thuận) commune, Thot Not ( Thốt Nốt) district, 52 kilometers from the center of Can Tho City, Bang Lang ( Bằng Lăng) Stork Garden is a popular stop for visitors. Once covered in rice fields and bamboo trees, storks have made this area their home, and the landowners have welcomed them with open arms. Nearly 300,000 storks reside in the sanctuary during peak months of September through December. While visitors are not allowed inside the sanctuary, they can glimpse stork activity in unspoiled nature from a distance.
My Khanh (Mỹ Khánh) Eco - tourism Village
My Khanh ( Mỹ Khánh) tourist village is located at 335 Lo Vong Cung ( Lộ Vòng Cung) street, Phong Dien ( Phong Điền) district, about 5 kilometers from Can Tho city by road or river. Binh Thuy (Bình Thủy) Ancient House
Binh Thuy (Bình Thủy) Ancient House is located in Bui Huu Nghia (Bùi Hữu Nghĩa) street, Binh Thuy (Bình Thủy) ward, Binh Thuy (Bình Thủy) district, Can Tho (Cần Thơ) province. A historical emblem found in nearly every early village, this particular communal house once served as the center of daily life for all citizens. Visitors will delight in the wooden carvings and traditional craftsmanship of the structure and get a glimpse into a day in the life of those served by the communal house.
Cantho (Cần Thơ) Bridge
Can Tho Bridge is a bridge across Hau River, connecting Can Tho City and Vinh Long province. Completed in 2010, this is the longest cable-stayed bridge in Southeast Asia. On the weekends or holidays, the Can Tho Bridge is lit by thousands of colorful lights that make the Hau River glitter.
Ong (Ông Pagoda)
Squeezed in on the river road (Hai Ba Trung street) along the tourist strip in downtown Can Tho, Ong pagoda was built at the end of the 19th century by Chinese descendants, part of the Kuang-Tsao Assembly Hall. Decorated in large incense coils hanging from the ceiling, the brightly colored Ong ( Ông) temple was originally built to worship the deity Quan Cong ( Quan Công), who represented loyalty, justice, and reason. Visitors can explore this temple for free, although donations are encouraged. The building, both inside and out, makes for a stunning backdrop to your travel photos thanks to its stunning color scheme.
Truc Lam Phuong Nam Zen Monastery
Built on an area of four hectares and featuring a hall with a capacity of 500 people, the Phuong Nam ( Phương Nam) Monastery is the largest Buddhist temple in the Mekong Delta region. The monastery was built on four hectares in My Khanh ( Mỹ Khánh) commune, Phong Dien ( Phong Điền) district in the Buddhism architectural style of the Ly-Tran Dynasty in the 11-12th centuries.
Tay Do (Tây Đô) Night Market
Tay Do (Tây Đô) Night Market is approximately 1 kilometers far from the central of Can Tho City. This market is not only well-known as the trading center of Can Tho City, but also attractive tourism destination. Tay Do (Tây Đô) night market is designed in accordance with the landscape around and expresses the Southern style. The market is divided into many stalls of clothes, handicrafts, jewelry, foods… which can meet all the demand of local and tourism. In addition, there are many interesting activities like games and traditional music shows.
